Drone Events & Pilot Coordination
Plan group flights, meetups, and organized drone activities. Check in as a pilot or visual observer, see who else is flying, and coordinate around shared airspace — all on the live Air-Chirp map.
What You Can Do with Drone Events
Air-Chirp events bring pilots together around a shared location and time. Whether it is a community fly-in, a training session, or an organized search mission, events help everyone coordinate safely.
Create Events
Trusted pilots and administrators can create events with a location, date, time, and description. Event types include community meetups, training sessions, and organized lost-pet searches.
Check In & Join
Pilots can check in to an event as a pilot or visual observer. Checked-in pilots appear on the live map so others can see who is present and where they are operating.
Event Chat
Each event has a dedicated chat room so participants can communicate in real time — share updates, coordinate positions, and alert others to changing conditions.
Share Your Location
When you start a flight, your operating area is published to the map. Other pilots near your event can see where you are flying, reducing the risk of airspace conflicts.
Event Series
Recurring events can be organized as a series, so pilots can RSVP to individual occurrences and see the full schedule at a glance.
Safety Alerts
Event participants can post safety alerts visible to everyone in the event, helping the group respond quickly to hazards or changing conditions.
How Event Coordination Works
1. Browse or create an event
Open the Events tab to see upcoming events near you. If you are a trusted pilot or administrator, you can create a new event with details and a map location.
2. Check in
When you arrive at an event, check in as a pilot or visual observer. Your role and approximate location are shared with other participants on the map.
3. Coordinate on the map
See other checked-in pilots, their operating areas, and any safety alerts. Use the event chat to communicate in real time. Check airspace layers →
4. Start your flight
When you are ready to fly, start a flight session to publish your operating area. Other pilots can see where you are flying and coordinate accordingly.
Who Can Create Events?
Event creation is limited to trusted pilots and administrators to maintain quality and safety. Any registered pilot can join, check in, and participate in events. If you are interested in becoming a trusted pilot, you can request the role from within the app after creating your account.
Safety & Privacy
Event participation is voluntary. Your exact location is only shared when you choose to check in or start a flight. You can leave an event at any time. Event creators cannot access your private profile information, Remote ID data, or control-station location.
